The YouTube Partner Program allows us to run advertising on the videos that play on the YouTube channel with some of the ad money goes to us the creator. Someone at Youtube will review the channel and the content to see if it meets YouTube’s guidelines. It will take one to three months or more to get an answer from YouTube with no guarantees of approval.

Advertising Eligibility

When videos are eligible for Monetization, the approval information appears here on this page. You can make money by allowing advertising to appear in the video. This page lists all of the videos that have generated ad revenue for both the video’s creator and Youtube. All content needs to meet YouTube’s community guidelines in order to run ads on your videos. All videos will need to comply with Youtube’s guidelines and advertising policies. YouTube will review the content of the Channel for compliance. If you choose, you can opt-out of having advertising, your ads don’t have to have ads running in them.

Using the Monetization page

This page will track all ad income from all videos that are eligible to run ads. When YouTube has any issues with the video they will notify you on this page. Blocked ad notices will be posted here to show which videos are being prevented from running ads. Go to this page to check your ads income, and to start or stop ads from running on a specific video.

When you first see the Monetization page it will look something like this. There is no content shown here, once your videos gain enough views, they will be eligible for advertising and will be listed here.

Monetization requirements

The page shows you what content on the page is eligible to run ads. A video must have 1000 subscribers, 4000 public watch hours, no strikes against you, and 2 step verification turned on. Once you have passed the threshold, the videos are able to be monetized.
