I had a fantastic experience with Ranfis who originally refinished my tub and with Anthony who supported coordination. I had my tub refinished in 2023, recently a week ago I saw two small nicks, I immediately reached out to NuFinishPro and Anthony responded quickly and efficiently. I had mentioned Ranfis had originally refinished my work and he was kind enough to come out of his way to come take a look a few days later. Ranfis is kind, efficient, and easy going. He reassured me that this was covered under the warranty and he and fixed my tub. He also added supportive material to make the material non slip when I mentioned it was slippery when we had initially refinished the tub in 2023. Long story short, NuFinishPro is awesome but Ranfis and Anthony are the dream team!

We had new finish pro of Sacramento, refinish our old green bathtub and chipped and worn out cast-iron kitchen sink. I had doubts as to whether it would improve the appearance of the sink, But we are pleasantly surprised as the sink looks like new. The bathtub also looks great!
They were on time, thorough and had excellent communication and we highly recommend.

Common Questions

Everything You Need to Know

[How long does bathtub refinishing take in homes, and can I use my bathroom the same day?](#how-long-does-bathtub-refinishing-take-in-homes-and-can-i-use-my-bathroom-the-same-day)

The actual refinishing process takes 3-5 hours for a standard bathtub in 95% of homes, whether you’re in a vintage bungalow or a newer condo our technicians typically arrive in the morning and finish by early afternoon. However, here’s the important part – while we complete the work in one day, the coating needs 24-48 hours to fully cure before you can use your tub again.

We understand this is inconvenient, especially in ’s smaller apartments where you might only have one bathroom. That’s why we always schedule your refinishing for times that work best for your family’s routine. Many of our customers schedule refinishing on their days off. The good news is you can still use your toilet and sink immediately – we only restrict use of the refinished bathtub itself. After the curing period, your tub is ready for normal use and will maintain its beautiful finish for 10-15 years with proper care

[What’s the average cost of bathtub refinishing in compared to replacement?](#whats-the-average-cost-of-bathtub-refinishing-in-compared-to-replacement)

In , professional bathtub refinishing typically costs between $450-$650 for a standard tub, while bathtub replacement runs anywhere from $3,000-$8,000 or more, depending on your bathroom’s configuration and the complexity of plumbing work required. The price difference becomes even more dramatic in older neighborhoods where plumbing updates to meet current building codes can add thousands to your replacement costs.

Here’s what many homeowners don’t realize: replacement costs go far beyond just the new tub. You’re looking at demolition fees, disposal costs (the city doesn’t just let you leave a 400-pound cast iron tub on the curb), potential tile repair or replacement, plumbing modifications, and often unexpected repairs once walls are opened. We’ve refinished tubs for landlords with properties throughout who calculated that one bathtub replacement equals the cost of refinishing 8-10 units. For rental property owners in competitive areas near universities or resorts refinishing makes exceptional financial sense.

[Is bathtub refinishing messy?](#is-bathtub-refinishing-messy)

Well, that depends on who you hire to refinish your bathtub! NuFinishPro will protect the other areas of your bathroom by carefully masks off the work area to protect your home or business. After the job is done, and make sure the work area looks as good after we are gone as it did when we arrived.

[What does NuFinishPro charge for bathtub refinishing?](#what-does-nufinishpro-charge-for-bathtub-refinishing)

Every project is different. The price depends on the amount of work we need to do, the condition of your bathtub, the size of your bathtub, and the color you desire. Other things include, any previous work done on the bathtub, or were there any past repairs made. Call us for a free estimate or  [email us](mailto:cs@nufinishpro.com "Send us an email.").

[What is the expected lifespan of a bathtub refinishing project by NuFinishPro?](#what-is-the-expected-lifespan-of-a-bathtub-refinishing-project-by-nufinishpro)

The newly applied finish on the bathtub can last up to 10 to 15 years for a owner occupied home with proper care and normal use. The amount of daily use, wear, and tear will affect the life of the newly applied finish. The life of the finish in a rental unit bathtub will be different.

[What are my color customization options with NuFinishPro?](#what-are-my-color-customization-options-with-nufinishpro)

We can color match any solid color in the Benjamin Moore or the Sherwin Williams paint decks. NuFinishPro also carries a wide variety of  [granite-like](https://nufinishpro.com/color-customization-options/ "color customizing options") finishes that simulate the look of granite.

[How does your bathtub refinishing warranty work?](#how-does-your-bathtub-refinishing-warranty-work)

A warranty is only as good as the company standing behind it. NuFinishPro has been in the bathtub refinishing business since 1987. Let us put our over 3 decades of experience to work for you. We cover our labor and material for a full 5-years for residential work and a 3-year warranty for commercial projects.
